Night At The Lightner Museum

Parent Information and Schedule

Armed with flashlights and the mission to learn, St. Augustine's youth will have the rare opportunity to gain an after-hours look at one of St. Augustine's most treasured attractions, this summer's "Night the Lightner Museum." The night will transform kids into treasure-hunters, as they examine rocks and minerals, and uncover Native American artifacts in the museum's Science and Industry Room. After the excitement settles, kids are invited to bring their sleeping bag and pillows and enjoy an exciting PG movie. Kids can use their imagination to build their own special movie-time dessert, with popcorn, chocolate candy, and more!

Presented by the Junior Service League of St. Augustine, this interactive evening is designed for children ages 5-12. Parents can enjoy a night off this summer while their kids spend an educational and entertaining experience at the Lightner Museum. The evening will include dinner, games, and a special take-home keepsake. "Night at the Lightner Museum" is scheduled for January 15th, 6:00-11:00 p.m. The cost is $45 per child/evening and $35 per additional sibling/evening. You can mail the completed Registration Form or call 824-4888 for more information.

Corporate/private sponsors may fund an entire evening for $1,000 each event. Signage at event as well as local press will include your gift mention. Additionally each event will also include the opportunity for one free child sponsorship. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Junior Service League’s Lightner East Restoration Project and other JSL projects. Lightner East is a restoration project named for the eastern, semicircular room on the second level of Lightner Museum. Envisioned as a functional space for community events and lectures, the room will also play host to some of the beautiful treasures of Lightner Museum.
